Week 2..... #2

I have an idea in my mind..........................

After some thought, seems like Sybil always inside a trap, she trap herself inside her faith, she trap by her duty, she trap by the Japanese and lastly trap by her death. She was always inside a cage unintentionally create by herself or the people surround her, so i want create a feeling of Sybil was in a cage and she was struggle to come out of it.

I am going to create a sculpture, like the amoeba. The sculpture represent Sybil's struggle, and also it's shape like amoeba because amoeba is very hard to die unless it is under a super extreme condition.

I am going to break the story into four stage which represent four different kind of emotion, and i am going to use different colour which is black, red, green and white to portrait the emotion. The first stage is before the war started which will be portrait by black. Because people were fear as there were rumor of war coming. The second stage is after the war start, Sybil secretly help the guerrilla and and spread the latest hidden news. This stage will be portrait by red as it show courage. Next stage is when Sybil was inside the jail and being torture by the Japanese. But she was optimistic all the time. She believe the Japanese will leave Malaysia anytime sooner. So, green is the color of optimism. The last part is after Sybil been release from the prison, she never hate the Japanese after all the thing they did to her. She show the greatness in human. So, for the last stage, white will be the color which stand for purity, noble.

I will make sculpture with steel penetrate through it. Each of the steel represent the hardship that Sybil had been through. Some of them is part of the sculpture, but some not. While i'm presenting, i will stab the sculpture with the remaining steel. I will put some color liquid inside the sculpture, so when i stab the sculpture, color will spill from it. The color represent the emotion when Sybil going through the hardship, and the steel is the cause of it. White will be the last color and the most intense, and will cover most of the sculpture. It indicate that, Sybil always hold onto her belief. She always struggle and never ever gave up no matter what.
